In this class you will learn several important basic art elements that will enable you to elevate your skills and knowledge; you will learn to create art quilts that will stand out from the rest.  Your art work will have pizzazz!

This workshop is intended for students who:

• Are interested in stretching their abilities

• Have been making art quilts and would like to expand their skills

• Are interested in learning to use color, color temperature and value effectively

• Want to develop their personal style

Are ready to have some fun and create art with pizzazz!

Be ready to roll up your sleeves we are going to accomplish quite a bit.   The first two lessons are devoted to color, color temperatures, value and perspective.

The exercises are preparation for the main design: Flora Rosa

I designed the Flora Rosa pattern specifically for this class.  It is a single (fantasy) flower nestled in a cluster of leaves with shallow depth; an intimate landscape.

You will gradually realize the multiple possibilities that can be developed within the simplicity of the design which includes opportunities for personal interpretation.

One of my goals is to help you will realize how much you already know and how to apply it in a creative way with pizzazz!

You should be confident with free motion quilting and quilting in general.

I believe in critiques.  I give honest (kind) feedback however; critiques are optional.

Clarify:  The word “critique” does NOT mean “criticism”.  On the contrary; it means to reveal observations.  Art is personal and giving an online critique is challenging.  Giving and receiving comments on line is a delicate matter.  I am willing to give them at your request; they are optional! Critiques are given with kindness and in a professional manner.

My goal in the class is to encourage you to reach out and stretch yourself.  This sometimes takes a bit of gentle “nudging”.  As long as you know where I am coming from and want to grow, then we this will lead to a positive experience and most of all, fun!

Now, are you ready to step out of the box for a while?  This class is a safe way to do that.  I guarantee that there is no danger.  The only danger is to hold back and not realize your potential.
